We are Kasper and Merete, and together with our three grown-up daughters, we are a family of five who love creating memorable experiences and meeting new people.

We have always had a passion for travel and exploring the world, and over the years we have visited many fascinating places. During our own travels, we have often been inspired by the small details that make a stay truly special – and that is exactly the feeling we have brought home to Shelterliv.

As a family, we enjoy creating and building things ourselves. Over the years, we have personally carried out much of the work on our home, outdoor areas, facilities, and of course, the shelter itself. It has been an exciting journey where we have continuously developed the place with a focus on coziness, quality, and unforgettable experiences.

We started renting out the shelter in 2024. Since then, we have expanded the facilities with a wood-fired hot tub, an outdoor shower, and several additional amenities that make the stay even more unique. The interest has been overwhelming, and during the season from April to October, the shelter is now booked almost every weekend.

For us, however, the most important thing is not the number of bookings – it is our guests.

We love putting our guests at the heart of everything we do and making an extra effort to ensure everyone feels welcome and enjoys a stay they will remember fondly. Many of our guests highlight the warm welcome, the thoughtful details, and the relaxed atmosphere as some of the things that make their stay truly special.

🕙 Check-out: No later than 10:00 AM

🚗 Parking: Free parking is available close to the shelter.

🛏️ Bed linen: No need to bring bed linen – it is provided.

🔥 Firewood: Firewood for the campfire can be purchased as an optional add-on.

🛁 Hot tub: Use of the wood-fired hot tub is included in your stay.

🛒 Shopping: Grocery stores are located within a few kilometres of the shelter.
